JW Lynn

Lead Artist

JW Lynn is a creative reuse and emerging visionary artist currently creating in Dallas, Texas.

Her work has been exhibited at local art galleries and cultural centers in and around DFW since 2009. She also curates a vendor space at The Enchanted Shop in Lewisville, Texas, which has a cycling selection of her artwork available. She has had the amazing opportunity to be a student of visionary artists Alex Grey and Allyson Grey and has participated in art residencies on Buddhist traditional thangka painting taught by qualified sacred art teachers located in Ulverston and Northampton, UK.

She helped build Oh-ICE-is at Burning Man 2024, a 100% solar-powered, 24/7 air conditioned art installation that offered a chill space for burners to take a break from sensory engagement, watch a looping documentary on climate change, and connect with others.

This will be her first large-scale art installation as an art lead at Burning Man 2025.

AARON JOHANSEN

Lighting Designer

Aaron Johansen is a Dallas-based lighting designer. Aaron is thrilled to be a part of this project!

Previous collaborations have included: Dallas Theater Center; Dallas Children’s Theater; Second Thought Theater (artistic associate); Kitchen Dog Theater (Company Member); Theater Three; Circle Theater; Stage West; Uptown Players; Cry Havoc Theater Company; Cara Mía Theatre Co and Sweet Tooth Hotel Art installation.  

Aaron is the resident lighting director for the Dallas Opera and also the Lighting Director for the Drone Racing League where he designs lighting for drone racecourses around the country. These races are shown on NBC sports network and various streaming platforms.

We are in need of someone who knows how things work. Someone who is passionate about making the wings fly, and who uses their creativity as much as their knowledge of mechanics. Woodworking

Do you enjoy working with wood, know how to run a CNC machine, and/or are a woodworker or carpenter? In addition to metal, we’ll be using lots of wood to build our bird. You will need to be available to participate in core crew weekly meetings, pre-planning & design sessions, and build days prior to the burn, and have a wish to be onsite at Burning Man 2025.

Construction Lead

We need a contractor that knows structure. Preferably, we need someone who can draft a build plan and then build the plan with us. This is an outside installation in a remote area. This person will collaborate with all core crew to determine best practices for assembly and disassembly on playa. They will need to be available to participate in core crew weekly meetings, pre-planning & design sessions, and build days prior to the burn, and have a wish to be onsite at Burning Man 2025.

We are in need of a power lead. This person needs to know about how to generate electricity for a week in an external environment with very little resources. Leaving No Trace / Sustainability

Do you love the planet, pick up trash while out in the wild, have a pack in/pack out mentality, and think it would be really cool to enforce that everyone else meticulously care for the natural world like you do? We need you. This person will be ensuring we have the best sustainable and eco-conscious practices and has some knowledge of (or can learn) the LNT Burning Man principle. You will need to be available to participate in some core crew weekly meetings, some pre-planning & design sessions, and most build days prior to the burn, and have a wish to be onsite at Burning Man 2025.

This is a critical role for our LNT plan.

We are in need of someone who is a fundraising magician, knows how to plan events that lead to both fun and funds, enjoys social media, and can partner with our multimedia team to create engaging content.
